In this debut single there are elements which lead to a direct comparison with most bands of the scene, but the distinctive vocals and the peculiar use of the gothic element can make Elysion more interesting than ever. In this case we are in front of something which fits with the expectations of the audience, as three members of this young band come from a promising project, which unfortunately had a short life. In the great sea of new visual kei bands, the gothic ones don’t find always great support, as because this genre is not simple to bring in at a reasonable level. Cry for the Moon: the single ends with this song, introduced by a soft melody, accompained by a simple beat the vocals are incredibly bright, accompained by a good guitar playing, for another track of good level. Persefone: the first b-side kicks off with an obscure beat, helped by a strong and relevant rhythm Bidoh’s voice is dark and quite nostalgical, remindful of old-school visual kei music, for an enjoyable rock theme. Shuuen no campanella: the single is opened by the title-track, which is introduced by an interesting gothic rock sound, leading up to an energetic rhythm and a really good guitar then Bidoh’s voice joins the melody, with dark and fascinating tones, kicking off this band’s promising style. If you don’t know them, they formed on 2015 and are composed by Bidoh (vo.), Lira (gt.) and Misogi (ba.), all former members of the band Minerva and Zaki (dr.).

Here I am with the second part of this week’s “Throwback Thursday”! This time the subject is the debut release of the new visual band Elysion, named Shuuen no campanella ( Campanella of demise) and released on 3rd February 2016.
